Grace Hopper

Grace Hopper was a computer scientist and a mathematician. She was born on December 9, 1906, and died January 1, 1992. Originally, she was commissioned into the Navy During World War II. During her time there, she was assigned to the Mark I programming staff. She co-authored three of paper for the Mark I, and after the war, she became an employee of the Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation, where she worked on developing the UNIVAC I.She is best known for developing the complier. This was the precursor to modern text-based languages.
